FARIBAULT -- The Rochester Royals suffered their second loss in as many nights with a 12-2 road setback to the Faribault Lakers in amateur baseball on Wednesday night.
Derek Lilledahl started for the Royals and allowed three runs in two innings, all in the bottom of the first, to suffer the loss. Jake Halverson allowed five runs, just two earned, in 4 1/3 innings while Barron Holtz was touched for four runs in just 2/3 of an inning.
Porter Sartor limited the Royals to two runs, one earned, on eight hits over 8 2/3 innings. Sartor also drove in two runs as did Danny Pierce. Nick Rost went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Michael Michalak went 1-for-4 with an RBI for the Royals. Alex Holets went 2-for-3 with a run scored while Chris Cartwright had a hit and scored a run.
The Royals (15-12) will play at the Elko Express at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a Section 1B contest.
