Rochester Community and Technical College shook off the rust of a layoff and topped Minnesota West 77-59 in junior college men's basketball on Saturday.
RCTC (2-1) had not played in 14 das priors to Saturday's contest.
"Being that was our first time playing in two weeks, there was some positives," RCTC coach Brian LaPlante said.
RCTC had a strong first 20 minutes and led 39-24 at the break. Defense was a big factor in the contest as the Yellowjackets forced 26 turnovers while committing just eight.
Jerome Cunningham sparked the Yellowjackets with 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals. He made 10 of 20 field goals, but overall RCTC shot just 35.9 percent from the floor.
Keivonte Watts had 10 points, five assists, four rebounds and thee steals for RCTC while Byron's Bjorn Knutson came off the bench to score 10 points and grab five rebounds.
Minnesota West held a slim 40-37 edge on the boards. RCTC held a 18-7 scoring advantage at the line.
RCTC will host Riverland at 3 p.m. Sunday.
