Blooming Prairie wins behind Toquam's 3 TDs

BLOOMING PRAIRIE — Blooming Prairie got three touchdown passes from senior quarterback Isaiah Toquam and cruised to an easy Gopher Conference win over Mankato Loyola.

Toquam, playing for the injured Luc Zellmer, completed 8 of 18 passes for 139 yards and three scores, with one interception. The Blossoms (5-1) scored 28 in the second quarter and led 35-0 at halftime.

Freshman running back Cole Sunde had touchdown runs of 5 and 59 yards, and finished with 77 yards on five carries for Blooming. Senior back Gabe Kartes had 71 yards on six carries.

Blooming Prairie's defense limited Loyola to 151 yards in total offense with 85 on the ground.
