ALBERT LEA — Offense has been hard to come by this season for the Riverland men's soccer team and there were no goals posted in Saturday's shutout loss.
The visitors from Bismarck (N.D.) Community College took the early lead over Riverland with two goals in the first half. Bismarck then added three more goals in the second half for a 5-0 win.
"We did not play as energetic as we had played in our previous games," Riverland coach Soner Dogan said. "I really don't know why it was like that, but my players somehow were down. I think it was because of the hot weather. I congratulate Bismarck College for their win."
Riverland (1-11) plays Iowa Lakes CC at Albert Lea on Thursday afternoon. The final home game of the season will then be next Saturday in Austin against Crossroads College at Wescott Field.
