Blues post league win

OWATONNA — Ben Moen and Brian Ness both drove in three runs as the Rochester Blues beat the Owatonna Aces 10-1 in Southern Minny League amateur baseball on Wednesday.

Moen had a three-run single in the third inning. The Blues put the game away with five runs in the sixth.

Derek Hovick pitched seven innings of three-hit ball and Sam Levisen added two innings of scoreless relief.

"The key for us was clutch hits, a good eye (at the plate) and solid pitching," Moen said. "We got a good outing from Derek and good closing from Sam."

Hovick was making his first appearance since playing in the JUCO World Series a little over a week ago.
