FARIBAULT — Rochester Century picked up its second Big Nine Conference boys basketball win of the season Saturday, riding a strong second half to beat Faribault 56-54.

FARIBAULT — Rochester Century picked up its second Big Nine Conference boys basketball win of the season Saturday, riding a strong second half to beat Faribault 56-54.

Century bounced back after trailing 30-26 at halftime and 51-39 with just more than seven minutes left in regulation.

The Panthers got another big game from Jared Bakken. The senior forward led the team with 19 points. He made a pair of three-point plays in the second half when the Panthers were down by 12 points.

"Those were big plays," Century coach Joe Ohm.

Luke Halverson made just one shot for the Panthers, but it was a big one. He hit a 3-pointer with just more than two minutes to go to put Century ahead for good.

"He hit a big shot," Ohm said.

Ryan Fink added nine points and Will Farm seven. Seven Century players scored.

Kade Hart, a 6-foot-8 junior, paced Faribault with 22 points.

Century's win was its first in nine games. It hadn't won since beating Bloomington Kennedy on Dec. 29 in the Rotary Tournament.

Century improved to 2-14 in the Big Nine and 3-17 overall. Faribault is 6-9, 9-10.

The Panthers host Northfield on Tuesday. Just six regular-season game remain.
