NORTHFIELD -- The Rochester John Marshall boys basketball team took an eight-game winning streak on the road Friday against a solid Northfield squad that had won eight of its last 10 games.
There was no drama in this one, however. The Rockets played well in all facets of the game and brought home an 89-59 win.
JM head coach Kirk Thompson was pleased with his team's effort. "It was fun to see us come out with tremendous energy on the road," he said.
Michael Hurt led the way for the Rockets with 30 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. He accounted for three of the Rockets' 10 three pointers. JM also got to the foul line early and often, connecting on 23 of 25 free throws. Matthew Hurt added 14 points, six rebounds and five blocks, and Dedoch Chan chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.
JM is 18-1 in the Big Nine and 20-3 overall. The Rockets host Faribault on Saturday at 1 p.m.
