Rochester Century just missed against Mankato East on Friday night, falling 71-70 in Big Nine Conference boys basketball at Century.
Mankato East's George Alhag hit two free throws near the end of regulation to seal the Cougars' win.
East was led by Yasin Omar with 26 points.
"Omar is one of the better scorers in the conference and we didn't really have an answer for him," Century coach Joe Ohm said. "(We) need to get better on the defensive end."
The Panthers were led by Carter Evans with 15 points, 16 rebounds and four blocked shots. Jacob Riggott had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jamal Brown had nine assists.

East led 36-35 at halftime. The Cougars shot 54 percent from the field for the game.
East is 2-8 in the Big Nine, 4-13 overall. Century is 3-6, 6-10.
