Century got off to a slow start in the first half and went on to drop its season opener 72-45 to Owatonna in Big Nine Conference boys basketball on Friday.
The visiting Huskies rolled to a 48-17 lead at the half.
"Owatonna dominated the first half and ran the court well," Century coach Joe Ohm said. "Their guards took care of the ball and did a nice job controlling the tempo of the game as they shot 60 percent from the floor.
Daniel Boubin was one of four Owatonna players in double figures with 18 points. Mason Thein had 12 points and seven rebounds.
"They were too physical for us," Ohm said. "We played very poor defense and that is a big-time concern."
