KASSON — Dodge County found itself in a three-goal hole midway through the first period and it couldn't recover on Thursday, losing to Achiever Academy 8-2 in a boys hockey game at Kasson Ice Arena.
Achiever's Cory Sprague had a hat trick in the first 22 minutes of the game as the Aces (12-5-2 overall) built leads of 3-0 after one period and 6-1 after two.
Tanner Dufault and Kylo Courteau scored for Dodge County (8-8-3).
The Wildcats play host to Luverne at 3 p.m. Saturday.
