AUSTIN — Austin scored three times in the third period to rally from a two-goal deficit and pick up its first boys hockey victory of the season with a 3-2 win against Winona at Riverside Arena on Thursday.
Blake Halsey's power-play goal 33 seconds into the third started the rally, Jason Stoulil tied the score at the 7:48 mark with an unassisted goal and Jace Greenman capped the comeback with a power-play goal at the 9:01 mark.
Adam Maxfield had two assists for the Packers (1-3-0 Big Nine, 1-5-1 overall) and Dan Larson had one.
Ty Mannor and Michael Lubahn had staked the Winhawks to a 2-0 lead after one period with a goal apiece.
Winona outshot Austin 39-30, but Packers goalie Connor Poczos was up to the challenge, making 37 saves to earn his first victory.

The Winhawks dropped to 0-5-0, 0-6-1.
Austin plays at Mankato East at noon on Saturday.
