NEW ULM — Rochester Lourdes has been aching for wins this season. Thursday night on the road, the Eagles got a quality one, beating New Ulm 5-2 in boys hockey.
Ryan Saltness, Mason Carstens and Tyler Vehrenkamp all had first-period goals as Lourdes took over early.
Logan Olson and Tucker Chapman finished off Lourdes' scoring, in the second period.
Lourdes move to 3-11-2 with the win. New Ulm is 10-5-2.
"It was a good win for us, on the road," Eagles coach Josh Spaniol said. "It was a good team effort. We have to get over the hump, and get some good bounces."

Lourdes goalie Aaron Van Galder stopped 23 New Ulm shots.
Spaniol liked the way his team played Thursday, but thinks it can still do better. It will help Saturday when defenseman Griff Slightam returns to the lineup, after being out four weeks with an injury.
"We're playing OK hockey," Spaniol said. "Not the best we can, but we have a couple of weeks yet to figure it out."
