Boys Hockey | Mankato West 3, Rochester John Marshall 0

MANKATO — Rochester John Marshall put forth exactly the type of effort it needed to against the best team in the Big Nine Confernece.

JM had some scoring chances — including at least one instance where the Rockets thought they scored but an official waved it off— but ultimately lost a talented, deep Mankato West team, 3-0, in a Big Nine boys hockey game on Saturday.

JM's effort was far superior to the one it gave two nights earlier in a two-goal home loss to Albert Lea.

Goalie Patric Sadecki was sharp against West, making 27 saves and keeping the game scoreless for more than 24 minutes.

West (14-0-0 Big Nine, 19-2-0 overall), which is in the driver's seat for the conference title, got on the board on Christian Klemme's goal at 7:14 of the second period. Cole Filler made it 2-0 seven minutes later.
