Rochester John Marshall's line full of veterans showed its ability to lead on Tuesday.
Seniors Cole Donahue and Jack Christensen, and junior Paul Cyr, combined for four goals and eight points as the Rockets notched their first boys hockey victory of the season, 5-3, against St. Paul Johnson at the Rochester Recreation Center.
"If they can keep doing what they did tonight, it will really help us in the long run," JM coach Jay Ness said. "They worked well together down low, cycled the puck well and supported each other."
Donahue got the Rockets on the board first, with a power-play goal in the first period. Cyr tallied both of his goals in the first, as well, to give JM a 3-1 lead after one. The Rockets led 4-3 after two, as Christensen's goal offset a pair of power-play goals by the Governors (1-2-0).
Sam Broman added an insurance goal in the third for JM (1-1-0), which outshot Johnson 50-31. Jake Dravis also had a multi-point game for JM, with two assists.
