Boys Hockey | Rochester Lourdes 5, Blake 4, OT

Ben Weir scored with 32 seconds to go in overtime Tuesday to lift No. 8-ranked Rochester Lourdes to a 5-4 non-conference boys hockey victory against Blake at Graham Arena.

Weir's goal came after Lourdes had sustained some pressure in overtime, outshooting Blake 9-4 in the period.

A young Blake team forced OT when Mark Lyman scored at the 12:08 mark of the third. Lourdes never trailed in the game, but the teams traded goals throughout the entire game.

Alex Funk, in his first game back after missing a full week with an injury, opened the scoring just 1:08 into the game. Blake tied it two minutes later, but McKay Carstens scored at the 12:16 mark to make it 2-1 Lourdes after one.

Mason Carstens scored between two Blake goals in the second to make it 3-3 after two. Lourdes' Jason Samuelson and Blake's Lyman traded goals in the third.

"I thought Mason really played well," Lourdes coach Josh Spaniol said. "He gave a great effort all over the ice. Jason Samuelson and Griff Slightam were both very good, too."
