ST. CLOUD — Rochester Lourdes held its own against a top-10 team in Minnesota Class A hockey on Saturday.
The Eagles were outshot nearly 2-to-1 in a 5-1 loss to No. 9-ranked St. Cloud Cathedral, but Adam Renn made 40 saves to keep his team in the game.
Cathedral (5-1-0) led 3-0 after one period and 5-0 after two.
Mason Carstens scored the lone goal for the Eagles (1-4-0) at 11:10 of the third period on a power play, with assists from Logan Olson and Tucker Chapman.
Connor Beltz scored twice for Cathedral, while Jake VanHalbeck had a goal and two assists. Jake Levinski made 22 saves to earn the victory.

Lourdes plays at last year's Section 1A champion, New Prague, at 7:15 p.m. Thursday. The Trojans (1-4-0) have moved to Section 2A this season.
