Lakeville North's defense was too much for Rochester Mayo on Wednesday as the Panthers pushed to a 15-7 win at Rochester Regional Sports Stadium in boys lacrosse.
Mayo made a nice run in the third quarter when it scored four goals. But it wasn't enough.
"Lakeville North had a very disciplined team that played excellent team defense and made very few mistakes — they're well-coached," Mayo coach Eric Moore said. "Ultimately we created too many penalties and the game got away from us when they scored several man-up goals. We'll learn from this game as we enter the second half of our season."
Mayo's Justin Rein had three goals. Ethan Moore had one goal, two assists and two groundballs. Harrison Sedlack had four ground balls. Lakeville North 15, Mayo 7
