Boys lacrosse | Lakeville South 13, Mayo 12, OT

Michael Fix scored four goals but it wasn't quite enough to help the Rochester Mayo boys lacrosse team to a win in its season opener Wednesday at Rochester Regional Sports Stadium.

Lakeville South came from behind to beat Mayo 13-12 in sudden death overtime. Mayo led for most of the game until late in the fourth quarter.

"It was a hard-fought battle between two evenly matched teams," said Mayo coach Tom Patterson.

Grant Flick made 15 saves in goal for Mayo, and five other players scored goals for the Spartans.

Mayo (0-1) is home against Owatonna at RRSS at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
