BOYS SOCCER

Rochester Mayo soccer standout Chileshe Chitulangoma has seen the world these last six months. A chance to play on a world stage might be next.
Rochester Mayo, Rochester Lourdes and Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa will all play Wednesday for trips to the boys soccer state championship games. Winona Cotter's girls will follow on Thursday. We take a quick look at those teams and their opponents in the state semifinals.
Rochester Lourdes has been the gold standard in Section 1A boys soccer for more than two decades. The Eagles are back to that standard, winning their first section title in six years. To do so, they beat an up-and-coming program — Dover-Eyota — that is quickly becoming what Lourdes is: A perennial section championship contender.
The top two seeds in the Section One, Class A boys soccer playoffs reached Tuesday's championship match, as top-seeded Lourdes hosted second-seeded Dover-Eyota. Lourdes made a Trent Neff goal late in the first half stand up as the game winner.
