DULUTH — The Rochester Lourdes boys soccer team made the long trip to Duluth on Saturday and came back without scoring a goal.
Duluth Marshall scored early in the second half and beat Lourdes 1-0 in a non-conference game to level the Eagles' season record at 1-1.
Marshall capitalized on a Lourdes miscue on a ball at the top of the box and scored eight minutes into the second half against goalie Nico Villarraga.
"It was a good game for us," said Lourdes coach Tom Kane. "We learn a lot from playing these teams as you see what are your strengths and weaknesses in these kind of games."
Kane described it as game of counter attacks and end-to-end action. Marshall had a 13-8 advantage in shots.

"Duluth Marshall is a good squad and experienced side much like us so it pushed us which is always a benefit later on in the season," he said.
Lourdes plays its first Hiawatha Valley League game against Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Rochester Regional Sports Stadium.
