Lourdes improved to 4-1, 3-0 in the Hiawatha Valley League.

"We started out quick with four goals in the first eight minutes," said Lourdes coach Tom Kane. "We were able to spread out the playing time and gave substantial time to the backups which I hope pays dividends later."

The Lourdes defense didn't allow a single shot on goalie Will Elder.

Lourdes is ranked No. 6 in Class A and plays at No. 1 ranked  Benilde-St. Margaret's at 7 p.m. Saturday. BSM is the defending state champion.

"This will give us an early season matchup that will let us know where we are at," Kane said.
