WASECA — The Rochester Lourdes boys soccer team found itself in a very tough spot on Monday night. The Eagles trailed Waseca 1-0 at halftime, and Lourdes goalie Noah Morris wasn't feeling well early in the second half and had to be replaced by Mike Frain. He immediately faced a two-on-one breakaway that gave Waseca a 2-0 lead.
Then Morris returned to the net for the Eagles, and Lourdes found its second wind. Three unanswered goals later, the Eagles claimed a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
"Waseca gave a great effort, and they have a distinct advantage on their crowned football field," said Lourdes head coach Tom Kane. "It is tough to get used to and play finesse soccer on it."
Isaac Plager scored on a breakaway to get Lourdes on the scoreboard, with an assist from Gavan Schotzko. Esteban Bedoya then tied it, with an assist from Tiernan Talbot, who eventually scored the game-winner with an assist from Dany Berbari.
"This was a great comeback victory," Kane said.

The Eagles are now 11-1-2 and have won eight straight, but they won't have much time to bask in their victory. They travel to Kasson-Mantorville tonight.
