Boys Soccer | Lourdes drops one-goal game to No. 2 ranked BSM

ST. LOUIS PARK — One week after losing a one-goal game to the No. 1 ranked boys soccer team in Class A, Rochester Lourdes lost a one-goal game to the No. 2 ranked team.

Lourdes allowed a goal in the second half and lost 1-0 to No. 2 ranked Benilde-St. Margaret's on Saturday evening. Lourdes, which is unranked, dropped to 3-4-1 overall.

The Saturday before, Lourdes dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 1 ranked Breck.

"This was another great effort by the Eagles only to come up short again," said Lourdes coach Tom Kane. "We are playing right with the top teams in the state. We just have to find a way to get a goal in these tough games."

Kane said several Lourdes players have been ill lately and the Eagles weren't at full strength.

"I really thought Nico Villarraga had a nice night in goal again for us with a number of key saves," Kane added.
