Tiernan Talbot was at it again Thursday night for the Lourdes boys soccer team, this time in the Section 1A quarterfinals at Rochester Regional Stadium.

Talbot had three goals and an assist in the Eagles' 4-1 win over Cotter. On Tuesday, Talbot had five assists in a playoff win over Schaeffer Academy, tying a school record.

The teams were tied at 1-all early in the game, with Lourdes' goal coming from Talbot off a corner kick from Colton Praska. Talbot later scored on a rebound off his own shot, and finished off his hat trick with a penalty kick. Lourdes' final goal came from Dawson Buss, off a Talbot assist.

"It was a great effort from Tiernan Talbot again tonight, helping both by scoring and his leadership on the field," Lourdes coach Tom Kane said.

Lourdes came through with an even more dominating performance than the score suggests, with a 24-1 edge in shots on goal.
