Bruins snap losing streak

AUSTIN — The Austin Bruins enjoyed their return home Friday night, snapping a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 overtime win over Aberdeen (S.D.) in North American Hockey League action.

The Bruins had spent the last two weeks playing in Alaska. They hadn't had a home game in three weeks.

Austin scored one goal in the first period. Aberdeen tied the score in the third period, before Guillaume Leclerc came up with the game-winner 50 seconds into overtime. Leclerc was assisted by Eli May.

Jake Arroyo got the Bruins' other goal, at 7:36 of the first period. Scott Nelson notched the assist.

The Bruins finished with 30 shots on goal, compared to 24 by Aberdeen. Nick Lehr was in goal for for Austin. Henry Dill was in goal for Aberdeen.

Austin had 15 shot on goal in the third period, but failed to score.

Austin is 30-17-1 and in first place in the Central Division. Aberdeen is in third place, at 27-17-4.
