The three-game winning streak for the Austin Bruins came to an end Friday night with a 5-1 loss to the Alexandra Blizzard.
This was the first loss of the season for the Bruins on their home ice at Riverside Arena. The Blizzard started the scoring in the first period as Jordan Krebsbach scored on the power play.
The visiting Blizzard got their second of the night from Justin Moody, and led 2-0 after the first period of the North American Hockey League game.
In the second period, the Blizzard continued their scoring trend by adding two more goals. At the end of two periods, the Blizzard led 4-0 and had outshot the Bruins 17-15.
For the final frame of the night, the Blizzard added their fifth goal. The Bruins added one before the end of the third period as Colton Kramer tipped in a shot from Jake Flynn.
