Bulls' Boozer out 2 months with broken hand

CHICAGO — Bulls forward Carlos Boozer, one of Chicago's top offseason acquisitions, has a fractured right hand and could be out for two months.

The team says Boozer, a former prep star at Juneau-Douglas High School, broke the fifth metacarpal bone in his hand Saturday and will need surgery. He was evaluated by team physician Dr. Brian Cole and hand specialist Dr. Marc Cohen of Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

Boozer spent the previous six years with Utah and averaged 19.5 points and 11.2 rebounds last season before joining the Bulls in a sign-and-trade deal with the Jazz.
