After an outstanding regular season, the Caledonia girls basketball team has earned the No. 1 seed in the East Subsection of the Section One, Class AA playoffs.
Caledonia is 20-3 and begins its playoff push next Friday against No. 8-seeded Lewiston-Altura.
No. 2 La Crescent will host No. 7 Plainview-Elgin-Millville in the opening round. No. 3 Chatfield gets No. 6 St. Charles, and No. 4 Winona Cotter will host No. 5 Dover-Eyota.
In the West Subsection, Rochester Lourdes has claimed the top spot. The Eagles will open the subsection playoffs with a first-round game against No. 8 Cannon Falls on Friday, Feb. 25.
Stewartville claimed the No. 2 seed in the West Subsection and will face No. 7 Lake City in the opening round. No. 3 Kingsland opens with No. 6 Zumbrota-Mazeppa, and No. 4 Byron will host No. 5 Pine Island.

In Section 1A's East Subsection, Spring Grove is the No. 1 seed. The 24-1 Lions begin their playoffs at 7 p.m. next Friday against the winner between No. 8 seed Schaeffer Academy and No. 9 seed Grand Meadow.
In the West Subsection, Goodhue received the top seed. The Wildcats will face the winner of the play-in game, either No. 8 Alden-Conger or No. 9 Medford, on Feb. 25.
Faribault Bethlehem Academy is the No. 2 seed. Blooming Prairie is No. 3 and will host No. 6 Glenville-Emmons in the opening round. No. 5 Lyle/Austin Pacelli faces No. 4 Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.
In Section 2AA, 20-3 New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva is the No. 1 seed out of the South Division and 16-2 Saint Peter is the No. 1 seed out of the North Division.
Those teams both start their playoffs on March 1.NRHEG will take on No. 8 Triton. Southland is the No. 2 seed out of the South and takes on No. 7 Maple River in the quarterfinals.
Kenyon-Wanamingo received the No. 5 seed in the North and will travel to No. 4 Belle Plaine on March 1.
In the South, No. 6 Hayfield will travel to No. 3 Blue Earth Area, and No. 5 Kasson-Mantorville will face No. 4 United South Central.
