Rochester Century was no match for highly-regarded Mahtomedi on Friday, as it fell 5-0 in non-conference girls soccer.
Mahtomedi was ranked third in the state Class A coaches poll.
"They deserved their ranking," Panthers coach Karen LaDue said.
Century was in the game for a half, trailing just 1-0 at intermission. The Zephyrs scored early in the opening half, then were held off until the second 40 minutes.
"We were able to hold off the quick attack of the Zephyrs," LaDue said.

That wasn't the case, however, in the second half.
"In the second half, we made some errors and the skill of Mahtomedi was too much for our inexperienced defense to handle," LaDue said. "Mahtomedi's last goal came off a penalty kick, just out of reach of the Century goalie (Bethany Schultz)."
