RED WING — The Rochester Century girls volleyball squad didn't play its best match of the season but still managed to pull out a 3-1 win Tuesday at Red Wing. With the win, the Panthers improve to 10-1 overall.
"We had too many dropped balls and too many unforced errors, which allowed Red Wing to come back and take game three from us," said head coach Brittany Weidman.
But at the net, the Panthers gave Red Wing a lot to think about, as Anna Lund, Nicole Lund, Rachel Fink and Hannah Weidman all reached double-digits in kills.
"Offensively, we had a balanced attack and had the opportunity to get a lot of hitters the ball tonight, which was great to see," Weidman said.
Reiley Huntoon had 37 assists for the Pantehrs, and Cailin Austin had 18 digs.

The Spartans dropped Game 1, but rattled off three straight victories after that to win 19-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-14.
"It was an emotional gym tonight in Owatonna," Mayo coach Deb Frederick said. "Their team has had some trying days. It is a tough place to play and when you add on to it the situations they have had to deal with you never how athletes will play."
Lexie Lang finished with 36 assists and four aces for the Spartans (3-1 Big Nine, 13-2 overall).
"We started out real timid and lost," Frederick said. "The next three sets we came back by playing one point at a time and taking care of the ball. We gave up points at times we shouldn't and when they regain their focus they earn them back and they start playing."
