Century suffers first loss of season

OWATONNA — The Rochester Century volleyball team went on the road Tuesday and ran into a tough Owatonna squad. The Panthers came into the match unbeaten, but couldn't overcome the Huskies and fell 3-1.

"Owatonna is a well-composed, tough volleyball team," said Century head coach Brittany Weidman. "They did a great job getting us out of our system with their tough serving and balanced attack, and we just couldn't' eliminate our unforced errors tonight."

Century lost the first set, then rallied to win the second before losing the final two.

Hannah Weidman had a season-high 14 kills and added 13 digs. Kiara Lindsey had 23 assists and 16 digs for the Panthers, who host John Marshall on Thursday.

Lourdes tops Panthers

for HVL victory

PINE ISLAND — The Lourdes volleyball team posted a Hiawatha Valley League victory with a 3-1 victory over Pine Island on Tuesday.

The Eagles won 25-15, 25-18, 8-25, 25-15. No Lourdes stats were provided from the match.


The loss drops Pine Island to 1-1 in the conference and 6-4 overall.
