DULUTH — The Rochester Honkers capitalized on Duluth's trouble with the leather in a Northwoods League college baseball game Friday night.
Duluth committed seven errors and Rochester scored four unearned runs as the Honkers won 9-5 before a crowd of 842 at Wade Stadium.
The Honkers won their second straight and improved to 8-3, good for a share of the lead in the North Division standings. Duluth is 3-8.
Rochester scored four runs in the third inning to go ahead 6-1 and take control. The Honkers bunched three hits, including a two-run single by Karl Sorenson (St. Cloud State), along with a Duluth error.
Casey Fletcher (Illinois) went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs and raised his batting average to .455. Anthony Sequeira (Oral Roberts) and Leonard Brewster (Hawaii) added two hits each to Rochester's 10-hit attack.

Former Triton High School pitcher Logan Spitzack (St. Cloud State) improved to 2-0 in four innings of relief, allowed five hits and three earned runs.
The Honkers and Huskies play the second game of their series at 7:05 p.m. today in Duluth. Rochester returns home to Mayo Field on Sunday for a 1:05 p.m. start against Mankato.
