College baseball | RCTC takes two from Anoka-Ramsey

COON RAPIDS — Conner Robley tossed a complete-game two-hitter and helped Rochester Community and Technical College sweep a baseball doubleheader from Anoka-Ramsey on Friday.

Robley, a freshman right-hander from Fargo, N.D., led the Yellowjackets to an 11-0 win in the first game with seven shutout innings. He struck out seven and walked two to improve to 3-0.

Koby Knaus pitched five innings and didn't allow an earned run as Rochester won the second game 11-1. Knaus allowed four hits and fanned five, and now has a 3-1 record.

Rochester improved to 22-7 and plays its last games of the regular season today with a doubleheader against Ridgewater at Willmar.

The Yellowjackets pitchers got plenty of offensive support in both games. In the opener, Mitch Anderson went 3-for-5 and scored four runs with one RBI. Robley and Matt Stubbs had one hit and two RBIs each.

Five Rochester players had multiple hits in the second game, led by Stubbs' 3-for-3 effort with two runs and three RBIs.

Also for RCTC, Mitch Anderson was 2-for-4, with two runs scored and a solo homer in the first inning; Luke Beachler was 2-for-4, with a double and two runs scored; Sean Geelan was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI; and Tanner Marvin was 2-for-4 and scored a run.

RCTC coach Steve Hucke explained that Anoka-Ramsey is still reeling emotionally, after one of the team's players fell through the ice and perished a few weeks ago in northern Minnesota.
