WORTHINGTON — The Rochester Community and Technical College men's and women's golf teams dealt with 40-mile-per-hour winds and still opened their season with dual meet wins Thursday at Prairie View Golf Course.
The RCTC men scored 320 to beat an incomplete Minnesota West men's team, and the RCTC women beat Minnesota West 291-309.
Brett Egland, a freshman from Lewiston-Altura, was medalist for Rochester with a 2-over-par 73. Kasey Olloff (79), Andrew Althoff (84) and Travis Heitman (85) also scored for the Yellowjackets.
Corbin Carlson, a sophomore from St. Charles, led the RCTC women with 83. Alissa Rinken (98) and Shannon Johnson (110) were the other scorers for the Yellowjackets.
The RCTC men's and women's golf teams will return to action next Thursday in a five-team event at Cannon Falls Country Club hosted by the Yellowjackets.
