Rochester youth baseball K-3 registration is open

Registration is now open for the Rochester Youth Baseball (RYBA) Kinderball through third grade

summer baseball program. This program is open to all in grades kindergarten through third grade.

The cost is $90 for the season. There is a late registration fee of $25 after May 15 and

will be subject to availability of a roster spot in each grade. Teams are typically grouped by

neighborhood or by the school they attend.

Games start at 6 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday for Kinderball and second grade from June 9 to July 30.

Games start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for first and third grades from June 10 to July 31.

There is an optional second and third grade year-end tournament on the weekend of

August 2-4 at the Rochester Baseball Complex. To register go to www.rybamn.com and then click on the Spring/Summer Baseball tab along the left side of the website. You can pay either online or mail in a check to our post office box.

RYBA offers skills camp in June

In response to popular demand, Rochester Youth Baseball Association (RYBA) is pleased to offer a Baseball Skills Camp to be held at the Rochester Baseball Complex (RBC) during the month of June 2014.

RYBA is bringing in experts to give players a high level of instruction. The camp will be conducted by Rochester Youth Baseball and instructors from the Pitching Hitting and Defense Academy (PHD) from Arden Hills, Minn., and will feature specialized instruction and targeted drills led by top baseball instructors like Erik Lovdahl (Minnesota Twins Youth Training Director), Herb Gibson (Bethel University Head JV Coach) & Bryan Ludwig (Bethel University Hitting Coach).

There will be two sessions and space is limited to 80 players per group/per session. Session one will be Monday, June 9 & Tuesday, June 10 with a rain makeup date of Thursday, June 12. Grades K-3 will be from 10 a.m.-noon. Grades 4-7 will be in the afternoon from 1-3 p.m. Session two will be Tuesday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 18 with a rain makeup day of June 19. Grades 4-7 will be from 9-11 a.m. while grades K-3 will be from 1-3 p.m. The cost is $40 for grades K-3 and $50 for grades 4-7.

If the player limit is exceeded during registration, a lottery will be held for the spots to give a fair and equal opportunity to all RYBA athletes. The 2014 camp is open to RYBA registered House league players in grades K-7 only. No travel players. No full teams. No players outside of RYBA.

The RYBA Skills Camp registration form can be found on our website at www.rybamn.com. Completed forms should be turned in to your head coach or mailed to: RYBA, PO Box 6631, Rochester, MN 55903 and postmarked no later than May 23. The Skills Camp fee is due the first day of each session.
