The Southeast Minnesota Piranhas eighth-grade AAU basketball team from Rochester played in the Minnesota Magic tournament in Bloomington over the weekend and won the championship with a dominant performance.

The Piranhas won the first game 71-35 over E1T1 AAU team. They followed that with another decisive victory over the MN Magic AAU team 76-34. On Sunday, the Piranhas played a tough Minnesota Heat AAU team and won 55-30. They followed that win with a 60-46 victory over the Southwest Slam.

The tournament director said that in the 20-plus years he has been doing this, it was the most dominating performance he has seen.
