MANKATO — The Austin girls soccer team lost to Mankato East by a 6-0 margin on Thursday.
The visiting Packers had a tough time stopping the offense of the East Cougars (3-5-2 overall) in the first half. The home team scored all six of its goals in the first half to take a big lead.
Despite the deficit, the Austin girls played with more determination defensively in the second half. There would be no further scoring in the second half as the Packers defense clamped down and didn't allow many shots.
Austin (2-9-2, 0-7-1 Big Nine) plays host to Spectrum/PACT in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon at Wescott Field.
