Eppler pitches Honkers past Willmar

WILLMAR — The Rochester Honkers got a stellar pitching performance from Tyler Eppler on Saturday and rode it to a 5-0 shutout win over Willmar in Northwoods League baseball.

Eppler (Sam Houston), worked the first seven innings and allowed just two hits. He struck out five and walked two.

Seth Fuller (Black Hawk) came in after him and notched the save. He allowed no hits in two innings.

The Rochester pitchers were backed by a 10-hit performance from their offense. Carter Burgess (Sam Houston) had three hits and scored twice, and Michael Pomeroy (Grand Canyon) and Kevin Barker (UC Davis) each had two hits.
