PHERSY:Feldy, let's get right down to brass tacks: Who's more overrated, Tim Tebow or Ricky Rubio? Like I said a week ago, Rubio is 100 times better than I thought he'd be. He's exciting, and he's already looking like a legitimate NBA point guard. So, I'd probably lean the other way. This mythical creature that is Tebow has to be annoying more than just me, right? I like that he appears to be a great human being, but I've watched the games. He's not a good quarterback. At some point, the fools wearing those irrational Tebow man-crush sunglasses are going to be disappointed. I'm guessing they'll all fall silent — like they did during the Broncos' slide into the playoffs — come Saturday night.

FELDY: Tebow has found a way to keep the Broncos going. He's completing less than 50 percent of his passes and averaged just more than 100 yards passing per game. But, he finds a way to make plays in key situations and, it seems, the Broncos' opponents have continued to make mistakes that put Tebow in those situations. I have no trouble with him getting someof the spotlight. He's the QB of a team in the conference semifinals. But the attention paid to him by national media, specifically the four-letter network, is borderline sickening. Phersy, if any other QB had thrown that pass in OT last Sunday, Demaryius Thomas would've been the star of the game.
PHERSY:We're done talking about Tebow. I refuse to feed the pig. ... Feldy, your Wild squad continues to slump. They're struggling in key situations, and of course, the injury bug is biting them once again. If they don't turn things around, this slide could be monumental, going from a first-place team to out of the playoffs in a hurry. I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet, but what needs to happen for this team to start playing good hockey again?
FELDY: To quote (or maybe I'm paraphrasing) Jacques Lemaire, you have to score more goals than the other team. That's how you win hockey games, guys. ... When we've talked about the Wild adding players (through trades or in the offseason), we've thrown out names like Zach Parise. It's becoming clear, though, this team needs a big-time defenseman. The Wild need guys on the back end who can get the puck out of their own zone and get it up the ice. Do they throw a bunch of dough at a stud like Shea Weber next summer, or do they spread the wealth and get a couple of pretty good d-men?
PHERSY:The Wild should trade one of their goalies for a hammer No. 1 defenseman this season, and then spend any leftover cash on a couple of free-agent defenseman to fill up the second pairing. That would eliminate the problems we're seeing them make in their own end. ... I'd like to give a shout-out to the Eau Claire Memorial boys hockey team. The Old Abes are coming back to Rochester at 2 p.m. Saturday to take on Lourdes at Graham Arena. I had the pleasure of covering Memorial coach Mike Schwengler during my brief time at the Eau Claire paper, and I can honestly say he's one of the best coaches I've ever covered, along with former Red Wing front-man George Nemanich. Feldy, you're the high school hockey guy — why should fans check out that game Saturday?

FELDY: The best reason is to see which one wins out: Lourdes' speed or Memorial's size and lock-down defense. Lourdes' top line can fly, but the Old Abes knows that and they'll do all they can to slow the Eagles in the neutral zone. We'll get to see Memorial d-man Mike Kapla — a USHL draft pick — against Lourdes forwards Landon Farrell, Jason Samuelson and Alex Funk. These teams put on a truly entertaining game during the Kiwanis Festival in 2010 (Memorial won 2-0). I'd expect the same on Saturday.
