The 30th Fetzer 20K will be run starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, starting and finishing at Bamber Valley Elementary School. A portion of the race is run along Mayowood Road but the course also stretches toward downtown on the bike path.
The race is named after a former Rochester chiropractor who was killed after being struck by lightning while playing golf in Forest Lake, Minn. in 1995. Fetzer was a longtime supporter of the Rochester Track Club, which is sponsoring the race.
Digger Carlson of White Bear Lake won last year's race in 1:11.17 while his son Andrew Carlson was third in 1:15.13. Ian Lanza of Rochester was second in 1:13.59.
Nichole Porath of Red Wing won the women's race in 1:20.42 She was ninth overall. There were 200 fnishers.
Registration fee is $25 and includes a long-sleeved T-shirt. Registration and packet pickup is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Running Room and day-of-the-race registration is also available Saturday starting at 7:30 a.m. at Bamber Valley.
