CANNON FALLS — Cannon Falls built a 14-0 lead after one quarter and went on to upset Lake City 20-14 in Southern Football Alliance Red Division play on Wednesday.
The host Bombers entered the game 1-6, 0-6 in division play.
Mason Biessel was 16-for-27 for 168 yards and a touchdown for Cannon Falls. Jordan Flemmons caught seven passes for 108 yards and a TD. Nick Lorentz had 106 yards rushing on 18 carries and a pair of touchdowns. Cannon Falls had 353 total yards off offense, 185 rushing and 168 passing.
Lake City quarterback
Andrew Schmidt scored on a 1-yard TD run in the second quarter. He then threw a 63-yard scoring pass to running back Matt Kjos early in the fourth quarter. That pulled Lake City within six, but the Tigers (4-4, 3-4 Red Division) were not able to score again. Cannon Falls 20, Lake City 14
