Football | Lake City 57, Zumbrota-Mazeppa 13

LAKE CITY — Lake City wrapped up its second straight unbeaten season in the HVL's Gold Division with a lopsided 57-13 victory over Zumbrota-Mazeppa in its regular-season finale Wednesday.

The Tigers threw a lot of weapons at the Cougars. Ben Schramski completed 5 of 8 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Coleman Sweeney had 103 yards receiving, including a 65-yarder from Schramski.  Elliot Cox and Will Balow each scored two touchdowns; Balow had 83 yards on 12 carries and Cox 72 yards on eight attempts. Shane Siewert added 42 yards on six tries.

Defensively, Lake City intercepted three passes and Balow had two tackles for loss.

Jake Griebenow caught a 35-yard pass, Easton Cox dived 1 yard and Reid Lundell returned an interception 40 yards for other Tigers touchdowns. Also, Brandyn Oliver kicked a 24-yard  field goal.

For Z-M, Kurt Gadient threw 35 yards to Jake Ugland and Cody Krueger ran 8 yards for touchdowns.

Lake City had 252 yards rushing and 180 passing for a total of 432. Z-M had 101 on the ground and 133 in the air.
