PINE ISLAND — Mitchell Acker kicked his second game-winning field goal in as many games as Pine Island came back to beat LeSueur-Henderson 17-16 in the Section 2AA football quarterfinals Tuesday.
Acker got this field goal from 22 yards with 2:08 left in the fourth quarter.
Pine Island (8-1) is the No. 2 seed, while LeSueur-Henderson (1-8) was seeded seventh.
L-H took an 8-7 lead into the third quarter. But Pine Island's Tristan Akason answered right back on the ensuing kickoff, taking it 81 yards for a touchdown.
L-H scored again in the fourth quarter on a 16-yard run to take a 15-14 lead. But Pine Island and its field-goal kicker — Acker — answered back minutes later with the game-winning boot.

Ben Farrell, who had a 64-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, finished with 188 yards on 22 carries. Pine Island had 246 yards rushing and just 36 passing.
L-H had 196 yards rushing and only 18 passing.
Pine Island turned the ball over three times, twice by interception.
