ELGIN — Nelson Finne scored on 5-yard pass reception from Schuylar Thompson with 1:27 to play as No. 3 Plainview-Elgin-Millville rallied past No. 6 Jordan 22-19 n the Section One, Class AAA quarterfinals on Tuesday.

The Thompson to Finne pass came on a fourth-and-goal play.

The Bulldogs were able to overcome four turnovers.

"Jordan played a very good game," P-E-M coach Bill Ihrke said. "I didn't think we played a very good first half."

But the Bulldogs had some big plays. Hunter Johnson blocked a field-goal attempt for the Bulldogs on the final play of the first half. In the second half, Thomas Miller had an interception in the red zone. Miller ran it back 89 yards for a touchdown, but a penalty negated the score.

"It was a turning point in the game; it was a huge stand for us," Ihrke said.

P-E-M had 252 total yards. Nate Theikeclough scored on a 45-yard run off a fake in the third quarter that put P-E-M up 15-12.

Bryce Heim had 19 carries for 78 yards and went over the 1,000-yard mark for the season. Thompson was 6-for-14 passing for 75 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 54 yards on six carries and a touchdown.

Jordan, which finishes 4-5, had 333 yards of offense.

P-E-M (6-3) will host No. 6 Cannon Falls on Saturday in the section semifinals.
