Z-M edges K-W with two-point PAT
KENYON — Zumbrota-Mazeppa quarterback Freedom Hunt scrambled in for a two-point conversion late in the second quarter and it lifted the Cougars to an 8-6 win over Kenyon-Wanamingo.
The two teams played a scoreless second half, thanks to penalties and some turnovers. The two teams combined for seven turnovers.
K-W (1-5) capitalized on a turnover to score a touchdown on their first play from scrimmage on a 16-yard run by Tanner Warner. Warner finished with 70 yards rushing on 11 carries, and the Knights had 157 yards in total offense.
Hunt completed a 15-yard pass to Jacob Forrey for the game-tying touchdown in the second quarter. Hunt completed seven passes for 31 yards. Z-M (2-4) used multiple backs to rush for 204 yards.
