HOUSTON — Isaac Heyer ran for 191 yards and two touchdowns as Houston bounced back from a season-opening loss with a big victory against Mabel-Canton in District Nine South-East play on Friday.

Heyer ran for touchdowns of 5 and 99 yards in the first quarter as the Hurricanes (1-1) built a 24-0 lead by halftime.

The Hurricanes finished with 432 yards of total offense, 426 of those coming on the ground.

Caiden Olson added 79 rushing yards on six attempts, while Ken Grupe (61 rushing yards), Logan Rodriguez (52) and Ethan Hargrove (43) had one rushing touchdown each.

Houston extended its lead to 32-0 before Mabel-Canton got on the board with a pair of third-quarter touchdowns.

M-C (0-2) finished with 335 yards of offense, including 263 rushing.

ADAMS — Nick Boe ran for 90 yards and a touchdown, and Harrison Hannah passed for 110 yards and a touchdown to lead Southland to a 27-14 District Nine South victory against LeRoy-Ostrander.

The Rebels (2-0) snapped L-O’s nine-game regular-season winning streak.

In addition to his rushing touchdown, Boe also returned a fumble for a TD for Southland. Brendan Kennedy and Eli Wolff also scored for the Rebels.

Chase Johnson led the way for L-O (1-1), passing for 120 yards and two touchdowns, and rushing for 96 yards.
