Farmington converted a three-point play with 30 seconds remaining and that enabled the Tigers to edge Rochester Century 55-51 in a Rotary Holiday Classic girls basketball tournament game Tuesday at Mayo Civic Center's Exhibit Hall.
Farmington guard Alyssa Wagner drove in for a transition layup, was fouled, and added a free throw to break a 51-51 tie. The Tigers added a free throw with 5 seconds left, after Century missed a three-point attempt.
Century (6-3) had a four-game winning streak halted. The Panthers were led by senior forward Kendall Kupfer and senior guard Kristin Fleissner with 14 points each. Fleissner made all three Century three-pointers.
