Girls basketball | John Marshall 73, Faribault 35

John Marshall dominated near the basket and rolled to a 73-35 win over Faribault in a Big Nine Conference girls basketball game Thursday night at the JM gym.

John Marshall won its second straight game and fourth in the last six to improve to 12-9 overall and 8-6 in the Big Nine Conference.

The Rockets beat Faribault for the second time, but the first time on Jan. 4 was only a four-point win. Faribault lost its 13th straight and is 1-20, 0-15 in the conference.

"The girls played with alot of energy and did some nice things," JM coach Terry Heiderscheit said. "We got some steals and moved the ball nicely tonight."

Jamie Ruden led JM again with 20 points and seven rebounds. Katelyn Rushton scored 15 and had five assists, Haley Holtorf scored 12, and Allyson Sherden had a team-high nine rebounds.
