Olivia Korngable scored 23 points and powered Rochester Mayo to a 60-46 win over Austin in a Big Nine Conference girls basketball game Thursday night at Mayo's McNish Gym.
It was the conference opener for Mayo, and the Spartans improved to 2-0 overall. Austin is 1-1 overall and in conference.
"It was an excellent home opener, against a team that will win their share this season," said Mayo coach Rich Decker.
Korngable, a junior guard, was 3-of-3 from three-point range and also had six assists and two steals. Senior guard Lexie Riley scored 15 points and also made three three's. Senior center Anna Winter had 11 points and five rebounds.
For Austin, 6-foot-3 junior center Ruth Koang scored 14 points, and senior forward Shayley Vesel scored 12.

"We all realize giving up 46 points is a lot for our program, but Austin is tough to defend," Decker added.
Mayo will play Minnetonka on Saturday in a tournament at Hopkins.
