Girls basketball | Lourdes comes from behind for road win

CANNON FALLS — Rochester Lourdes overcame a fast start by Cannon Falls and the Eagles notched a 43-38 road win in Hiawatha Valley League girls basketball on Tuesday night.

Lourdes won its second straight and improved to 5-3 overall, while the Bombers dropped to 2-5.

"Cannon Falls jumped out to an early lead while we struggled to get any consistent offense going," said Lourdes head coach Aaron Berg.

"We said that defense and rebounding would end up winning this game and we did both well at the end of the game to pull one out against a scrappy team."

Lourdes was led by sophomore forward Wynter Bergner with 22 points, one of three Eagles players in double figures. Tatum Pickar paced Cannon Falls with 15 points. Lourdes had a 17-11 scoring edge at the free throw line.
